Message from our founder
allows me to tune in and slow down through activities like taking a bath, journaling, or practicing restorative body exercises such as stretching, yin yoga, or Guasha. This new moon is coming at the perfect time for me as I've been caught up in the fast-paced wheel of life for several months. I'm excited to enter a period of grounding.
The new moon today is sandwiched between two full moons happening in the same month; this is a rare occurrence - more on this Blue Moon event in two weeks.
Today’s new moon is the perfect time for reflection on how I want Q4 to unfold, especially as I will have more routine given my 5 year old returns to school.
The new moons are an opportune time to prioritise the health of our mind, body, and soul. Below, we share three rituals which are great for new moons.
On another note, today's playlist feature is a special one. I've had it prepared since 2020 but never felt ready to make it public. However, with the celebration of 50 years of hip hop this week, I decided now is a good time. As a passionate music enthusiast, particularly of hip hop, this playlist holds great significance for me and will never be ‘just right.’ Although it may not be the most relaxing genre, with today’s new moon falling in the sign of Leo the lion, this playlist could be an exciting energy to cosmic backdrop – particularly the conscious tracks.
Happy New Moon and #rockwithcare.
NEW MOON INSPIRATION

Take a minute for yourself with #stixandstones Palo Santo.
This holy wood can be used in various ways for mindfulness, aromatherapy, and even as a visual representation of your choice - whether it be an intention, a shield, or a signal to start the next task.

Try a restorative body practice like yoga or qigong or a full body guasha within one or two days around the new moon. The act of stretching and engaging in sequences designed for internal organ health not only impacts the body, but also the mind and soul.
A Guasha session across the body can help promote movement, breakdown tightness, and more. Even just three minutes of Guasha is beneficial, but ideally, aim for a longer session. Watch this video for some inspo.

After consciously engaging your mind and body, take time to journal and release any thoughts or emotions that come to the surface.
If you're unsure where to start, read our New Moon in Leo section (below) can offer some inspiration.
Although hip-hop's beginnings date back to August 11, 1973, when DJ Kool Herc created continuous break-beats in the Bronx, the majority of this playlist spans from 1990 to 2020. This collection covers influential songs, artists, and change-makers in the genre. While not necessarily our favorite hip-hop tracks, these songs played a vital role in shaping the big hits that followed. If you're curious about the roots of hip hop, this compilation is a great place to start exploring.
