#031: How to get a good night's sleep

#031: How to get a good night's sleep
Emailed: February 9th, 2024
We are thrilled to share some insights about good sleep and the cosmic energies we’re currently in in today’s newsletter. Let’s dive in.

A Good Night's Sleep

At Grounded 1002, we’re here to help you become a better version of yourself through well-being practices that work specifically for you. And that naturally brings us to today’s topic: sleep.

Sleep is something that many of us struggle with at one point or another in our lives. But quality sleep is crucial for overall well-being, playing a vital role in promoting physical and mental health, supporting cognitive and emotional function, and fostering the body's ability to repair and regenerate.

To help you take some new and healthy habits into the new lunar year, here are some tips for more restful sleep.

1. Try sun gazing

Early morning exposure to natural or sunlight-mimicking light has been associated with improved sleep quality and enhanced mood, as studies reveal its role in regulating circadian rhythms and positively influencing the production of serotonin and melatonin. So, want to synchronize your internal clock? Go for a walk within two hours of waking and forgo the sunglasses. It makes a huge difference.

2. Lean into aromatherapy

To create a tranquil atmosphere conducive to relaxation, immerse yourself in the calming benefits of natural aromatherapy. Our favorite way to do this is through burning #stixandstones Palo Santo, which has active compounds such as d-limonene and monoterpenes. These compounds offer a variety of scientifically backed therapeutic benefits, such as stress reduction, increased focus, and anti-inflammation.

3. Embrace the darkness

While the darker it is in your room the better for sleep, what we’re referring to here is artificial light from phones, laptops, TVs, and even smartwatches. Several studies show the disruptive consequences of light from screens for sleep and circadian rhythmicity, so don’t take a chance on this one and leave the phone outside of your room.

4. Enjoy a #rockwithcare session

Before bedtime, indulge in a soothing guasha session using our #rockwithcare tool. Release tension in tight muscles and fascia, promoting relaxation, and preparing your body for a restful night's sleep. Wanna know more about #rockwithcare benefits? Watch this video!
